August reported 31% dollar volume of sales gains for Pitkin County over last August according to Land Title Company in Aspen.
$74.5 million compared to August 2009 of $57 million. 53 transactions compared to 44 in August 2009, another gain of 20.5% compared to last August.
Eight month sales totals for 2010 are $722.4 million, an increase from $655 million for the same time period in 2009, amounting to a 10.3% increase year to date.
The Aspen and Snowmass area real estate market is bouncing back after reporting increases over last year in 5 out of the last 6 months.
Average single family sold price in Aspen is $4.4 million so far in 2010, which is down about 10% from last year. While the median single family sold price in Aspen is $4.05M so far in 2010, which is an increase of 28% according to the report.
