Vacation rental packages are often the way to go when visiting larger destination resorts. However, Aspen and Snowmass Village is different when it comes to vacation rental packages. Big tour operators still try to offer them, but you will be most likely disappointed with your accommodations, amenities, and guest services. Aspen and Snowmass Village are both more luxury resorts with the majority of condos in both places having been built in the 1970’s and most having been remodeled some since then. However, it is best, if you have someone that knows these rental properties in Aspen and Snowmass Village inside and out and will let you know the honest opinion about each individual unit. The worst is thinking you are getting one thing, and then ending up with something inferior, for often the same money than you could get something better.
Instead of purchasing a vacation rental package, I have found that the most economical way to get to Aspen is to fly a large or discount carrier to Denver and then rent a car or come to Aspen by shuttle service. Otherwise, Frontier and United are both flying into Aspen. And there is also the option of flying into Eagle Airport and then driving or taking a shuttle.
