Aspen Snowmass real estate is still an anomaly in 2010, whereas the national real estate market is still suffering.
Two of the highest priced home sales in Aspen real estate closed in 2010. One for $31.5 million in October for a West Buttermilk estate home, and another for $24.5 million in June for a McLain Flats luxury home.
The surge continued in Aspen real estate for very high end home sales recovering. Seven homes sold in Aspen for $20 million to $31.5 million in 2010. Only one home sold in this range in 2009.
At the height of the market in 2006-2007, over 70% of buyers were paying for Aspen Snowmass real estate with cash. That has decreased the foreclosure amounts in Aspen and Snowmass real estate. Foreclosed properties are a rarity in Aspen and Snowmass real estate, and when they do come about, the bank would rather wait it out for the recovery than dump the property on the market.
