Sneaky's Tavern at the Capitol Peak Lodge- Snowmass Base Village
Cache Cache, is very romantic French cuisine and a real great place for just couples in Aspen. I also would say the Matsuhisa (Nobu) in Aspen is another great alternative for adults without kids. My wife likes Rustique but loves Cache Cache and Matsuhisa without the kids.
For family, I like the Hickory House a lot for barbecue baby back ribs and barbecue (probably one of the very best in Colorado). It is a real local restaurant though, very casual dining. My kids love it and Boogie’s 50’s Diner.
A little more upscale with the kids would be Jimmy’s (an American Bistro) and real upscale is of course Matsuhisa (also known as NOBU- best Japanese restaurant and more around the world). One of the best restaurants in the world is what many of my clients say, and my office for Aspen Snowmass Real Estate is right at the entrance.
In Snowmass, I like Sneaky’s Tavern that is similar to Ajax tavern and has the former manager. It is located in the New Base Village.
Il Pogio in Snowmass is okay for family dining and is Italian and has stone oven pizzas for the kids. Real informal, I like to order pizza for delivery from Tasters in Snowmass.
L’Hostoria is an Italian restaurant that is liked by a few of my clients and would be okay to bring the kids too. It’s upscale but not overwhelming. Brexi has become a sort of local hangout for a bit more upscale cuisine. I ate at Wild Fig once and it was just small appetizers and no main courses. The Ute City grill has gotten good reviews from my wife.
Campo De Fiori is very high end Italian and would be probably be better without the kids.
I do like the new main restaurant EightK at Viceroy Snowmass, it is very popular among guests that want a high end alternative without going to Aspen. Reservations are recommended. The 90 foot bar is very popular too and has its own less expensive menu.
Other alternatives for Snowmass dining are the Sage Restaurant at the Snowmass Club, The Artisan Restaurant in the Stonebridge Inn that comes highly recommended by my clients.
Rustique, Cache Cache, Matsuhisa, Mezza Luna and Jimmy’s all have bar menus that are less expensive than the restaurants themselves and a great way to experience the restaurant for less.
