First, mortgage rates are the lowest they have ever been in American history.
We are not just talking about the last couple decades but mortgage rates that go back to the 1800’s.
The last time we saw rates this low was just after World War II. And the greatest post war boom in housing prices by far came thereafter.
Mortgage rates bottomed in the mid 1950’s along with housing prices and then started the greatest boom in real estate.
This time the same thing is happening in Aspen and Snowmass real estate. We are close to 50% off the highs of the beginning of 2008.
