Aspen and Snowmass ski areas are like having 4 resorts in one area. Aspen is known for expert terrain. It just remodeled its gondola with new cabins. Aspen Highlands is known for its abundant expert only terrain. Last year, it put in the Temerity chair lift that serves Steeplechase and the Highlands Bowl areas (see photo). Buttermilk is known as the beginner and intermediate area. It is also home of the X-Games. Snowmass is known as intermediate heaven. It has some of the best groomed intermediate trails in the world.
