Pitkin County Real Estate Sales are starting to pick up in April after sales were slow the first quarter of 2013.

All sales in Pitkin County (primarily Aspen and Snowmass areas) totaled $111,269,029 in April according to the Aspen Times. A nice 12% increase from April 2012 of $99,180,781.
2012 ended very strongly with sales. 2013 started slowly and now is picking up.
There were seventy two sales in April recorded with the Pitkin County Clerk. This was up some from the 64 sales in April 2012.
April has been the strongest sales month so far for 2013. The second half of 2012 was extremely strong with December 2012 being as strong as months of pre-recession sales volume. This is thought to be because of tax implications.
Aspen real estate is expected to have a strong summer.
