St. Regis- Aspen Colorado Pool
Starwood Hotels has found a buyer to purchase the St. Regis Aspen after two years of being for sale. OptAsia, an investment bank that specializes in hotel and hospitality is under contract to purchase the property. According to the local assessor the hotel is worth $79.5M.
The St. Regis has 179 guest rooms and suites and will be managed with the signing of a long term agreement with the St. Regis. The hotel and its services will remain the same. It is rumored the new owner has agreed to spend around $20M to improve the hotel with renovations. The sale is set to close sometime around the end of September 2010. This is the second time the hotel has changed hands. It was first sold by the Ritz Carlton back in 1997. Starwood Hotels is in the process of selling real estate holdings and concentrating instead on securing long management hotel contracts.
Whereas, Aspen – The St. Regis Residence Club Resort that was created about 10 years ago with additional hotel rooms converted to 25 fractional ownership suites will not be part of the sale and will remain under St. Regis management. We do rent these luxury suites:
